Recipe Friday – Fido’s Meatballs!

Friday once again (this week has just flown by for me!)  and I found a recipe that is sure to please any puppy! I do suppose you can try to give this to your kitty friends as well.

1/2 pound ground beef
1/2 cup oatmeal (if your dog has a gluten allergy, find some oatmeal that is gluten free and processed on dedicated lines)
1 egg
1 shredded carrot
1 stalks shredded celery
1/3 cup of shredded cheese
1 T. tomato paste (if your dog is allergic to tomato, you can leave this out and just add more of the other ingredients)
1 T. dried parsley
Pre-heat the oven to 400°F and grease a baking sheet. In a bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well. Form the mixture into balls and place on the baking sheet. Bake until cooked through, about 15 minutes. Let cool completely on a rack.
The size that you make the meatballs all depends on the size of dog you are feeding them to.  I make mine about the size of a nickel and Sasha gobbles them right up!
These are yummy treats and the best part is they are much healthier than what you buy for your pets at the store.  You are making them, so you know exactly what is going into them.  Peace of mind in knowing your dog is eating something healthy.
Have a great weekend!
