Cat Sleeping In Litter Box?

If your cat is sleeping in his/her litter box, there may be an underlying issue.

Does your cat feel secure within the household?  Is there a child or dog that chases after your cat, thus the cat being unable to reach their box in time?

There are ways to work around this and to help the cat feel more secure in their environment.

When we first got Sasha, she liked to snack on kitty truffles.  Our solution was to get better food into Sasha, and to turn the covered, large litter box to face the wall, but to leave enough room so that Isis could climb in, but the dog could not reach in.  Isis’ litter box is now in a safe area and we no longer have to worry about Sasha trying to get into the box.  The food she is eating now provides her with all the vitamins and nutrients she needs.

I found an article that offers some opinions and possible advice if you are dealing with this issue.  Make sure your cat knows it is safe and have the box in a quiet location in your home.
