Recipe Friday – Chicken Cookies For Cats

This recipe is sure to tempt any cat!  I will list substitutions for those whose cats have allergies.

  • 1 ½ cups cooked chicken, shredded (if your cat is allergic to fowl, you can try using beef)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour (if your cat cannot have wheat or gluten, use 3/4 cup of rice flour instead)
  • ½ cup chicken broth (use beef broth, same amount if your cat cannot eat fowl)
  • 1/3 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp. softened margarine

Preheating to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Combine the chicken (or beef), broth and margarine, then add the cornmeal and flour. Knead the dough into a ball and then roll it out to ¼ inch.

Cut into one-inch pieces and bake for 20 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Cool on a baking rack and store in the fridge for one week, freezing what is not used after that.
