Safely Remove A Tick

Since this is the season for fleas and ticks, I figured it would be something good to add how to remove a tick from your dog or cat.  Many people think that using a match will get the tick to back out, but actually it can cause the tick to deposit more of their diseased saliva into your pet.

Ticks can be removed quickly and safely as long as you follow the directions to remove them.  If you are in doubt and are afraid to try to remove them, take your pet to the vet immediately.  Time is of the essence when having a tick lodged inside your pet.

Make sure you have a first aid kit for your pet and most of all, try to not panic.  That can cause your pet to panic and make getting the tick out even more difficult.

For steps on how to remove a tick, here is a great, simple and easy plan to follow.
